From a small section of the famed Appalachian Trail to thousands of miles of trails in national and state parks and more, West Virginia is a special place to take a hike. Or, if walking along a stream casting for trout or in the woods watching wildlife are more your style, we offer both in abundance. Those who'd rather have two feet on either side of a horse, riding is a popular pursuit on countless trails and at some parks and campgrounds.

Hiking in Pocahontas County, WV.Winter snow melt fuels about 30,000 miles of rivers and streams and fills more than 125 lakes to the brim.
